She waited all night until the next morning, but no one came to help him. She realized that something must have happened to Joe. The next day, Parker begins to climb out of the lift, but the screw comes loose and causes the lift to fall.
Blocked by a cable, the lift is hanging a few meters above the ground. Parker jumps out of the lift and lands safely, but the lift falls off the cable and lands on her ankle, fracturing it.
Injured, she begins to slide and crawl down the mountain. She encounters the wolves feasting on Joe's mutilated corpse.
Too occupied with Joe's corpse, they ignore her as she continues down, eventually crawling to a nearby road. The first car that passes doesn't see her but soon a minivan appears and the driver, seeing her outstretched body lying in the snow along the side of the road, stops to assist her.

Preso dal panico , torna indietro, dove, assieme a Parker, assiste impotente alla morte di Dan. Il mattino successivo, con i segni di congelamento sulla pelle visibilmente peggiorati, Lynch riprova a raggiungere il pilone e, riuscitoci, scende a terra dove, dopo aver allontanato un paio di canidi ancora girovaganti, si allontana rapidamente con lo snowboard di Dan, promettendo a Parker di tornare presto con i soccorsi.
